NOAMI Report now available
Canada’s National Orphaned/Abandoned Mines Initiative (NOAMI) is pleased to present its first performance report documenting activities and achievements in its first six years of operation, from 2002 to 2008.  The report focuses on the current state of orphaned and abandoned mines in Canada, NOAMI's achievements and those of jurisdictions active in NOAMI,  future challenges and opportunities in Canada, and NOAMI’s future. Hardcopies can be requested from the NOAMI Secretariat at abandoned_mines@nrcan.gc.ca.  

Proceedings of the Sixth AMD Workshop
Proceedings of the Sixth Australian Workshop on Acid and Metalliferous Drainage (held 15-18 April 2008 in Burnie, Tasmania) are now available on CD-ROM from ACMER.

New ICMM Publication
The International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM) has released a new toolkit 'Planning for Integrated Closure' that provides practical guidance for a key challenge to mining: closing a mine in a sustainable manner. The publication can be downloaded here.
